Ida Mae Hagedorn, the daughter of Fred D. and Georgia Whitaker Morrison, was born May 31, 1910 at her parents home in Oakland, Iowa and died December 15, 2009 at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 99 years, 6 months, and 14 days.
Ida Mae was baptized at the Congregational Church in Oakland, Iowa. Her mother died during the 1918 flu epidemic and Ida helped at home. She attended Oakland Community Schools and graduated from the Oakland High School.
After high school she was united in marriage to Clarence H. Summers.One son Clarence Lloyd Summers was born to this union on April 7, 1930. The marriage ended in divorce in 1933.
Ida Mae worked as a cleaning lady and as a live-in housekeeper to support her and her young son. One of the places she kept house was for Hjalmar Lykke and his family. Hjalmars wife had died in 1929 and he had three children, Gordon, Lydia and Harold to raise. In September of 1936 Ida Mae and Hjalmar were married. One daughter Patricia Ann was born to this union. They farmed in the Exira area for many years. Hjalmar died OnJuly 1, 1951.
Ida Mae moved into Exira where she had built a home to live in. On October 7, 1953 she married Harry Hagedorn. Harry had three children Harry Jr., Gary and Frances, from a previous marriage. She was employed as a clerk at Pauls Variety Store where she worked for over 36 years before retiring. Harry worked as a construction worker and handy man in the Exira area until he died on March 15, 1993.
After Harrys death Ida Mae moved to Westwood Knolls Retirement Apartments in Carroll, Iowa where she lived for twelve years. In May of 2006 she moved to the Carroll Health Center.
Ida Mae was an active member of the Exira Lutheran Church, was a member of the Ladies Circle and a member of the WAGS. During her retirement, Ida Mae spent many multitudes of days at the Exira Lutheran Church with her ladies group making quilts for the less fortunate.
Preceding her in death were her three husbands: Clarence H. Summers, Hjalmar Lykke, and Harry Hagedorn; her step children: Gordon Lykke, Lydia (Lykke) Andersen, Harold Lykke, and Gary Hagedorn; her step grandson: Paul Hagedorn; her brothers: Albert and wife Isabelle Morrison, Bob and wife Marie Morrison, Clifford and wife Dorothy Morrison, and Loren Morrison; her sister: Elizabeth and husband Homer Hamilton; and her step-brother: Albert and wife Mildred Calkins.
Survivors include her son: Clarence Lloyd and wife Norma Summers of Atlantic, IA; her daughter: Patricia Ann (Lykke) and husband Gilbert Klindt of Carroll, IA; her step-son: Harry, Jr. and wife Brenda Hagedorn of Midlothian, TX; her step-daughter: Frances Moritz of Spirit Lake, IA; her step-daughter-in-law: Rita Hagedorn of Colorado Springs, CO; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; her step daughter-in -law: Loraine Hoegh of Exira, IA; step son-in-law: Hubert Andersen of Guthrie Center, IA; her sister-in-law: Marjorie Morrison of Waterloo, IA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family prefers memorials to the Carroll Health Center; 2241 N. West Street, Carroll, Iowa 51401.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira.
Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Walter Behrens on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 1:30 P.M. at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira.
