Ione Leeper

Ione L. Ludlum was born May 29, 1935, the daughter of Everett Glen and Aleda Christina (Hjelm) Ludlum in Rhame, North Dakota, and passed away Friday, December 17, 2010, at the Atlantic Nursing & Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

Ione grew up in Rhame, graduating from Rhame High School in 1953. While still residing in Rhame, Ione married Lavern Leeper on June 26, 1953. The couple lived in North Dakota, Montana and Nebraska before settling in Adair, Iowa.

She worked as a floral designer at the Wilson Flower Shop in Adair. Ione was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Adair.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Leeper; her parents, Everett and Aleda Ludlum; and her brothers, Leon and Donny Ludlum.

Surviving Ione are her children, Ross (Janni) Leeper of Adair, IA, Perry (Cinda) Leeper of Adair, IA, Gwen (Richard) Bash of Chanute, Kansas, and Joey (Deb) Leeper of Rockwell, Texas; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Hockenberry Funeral Home in Adair.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adair.

Private family burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
