Izabella Becker

d. June 23, 2008

Izabella Grace Becker, infant daughter of Wiatt and Sarah (Martens) Becker of rural Atlantic, Iowa, fell asleep and went to heaven on Monday, June 23, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

The following is a paragraph from the writings by Wiatt and Sarah:

From the time Izabella was conceived, she only knew love. This was extremely important to us. We have lived our lives like the next minute could be the last, and we have been proud of her and never denied her for a second. The thought that she would never see even her one week birthday didn't mean that we couldn't cherish her and love her right now. Just because she was never meant to live outside the womb did not mean that she wasn't a living baby. She was very much alive to us, and we do not think of Bella as being stillborn. She was 32 weeks old when she fell asleep and went to heaven. As hard as it is for us to let her go, we know in our hearts that God will take good care of her until we are able to take over again one day in heaven.

Those left behind to cherish their angel, Isabella Grace, are her parents, Wiatt and Sarah Becker; her paternal grandparents, Galen and Pat Becker of Cumberland, Iowa; her paternal great-grandparents, John and Alberta Becker of Cumberland, Iowa, and Floyd and Shirley Collins of Leon, Iowa; maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Patty Powell of Atlantic, Iowa; her aunts, Maggie Martens of Atlantic, Iowa, and Tasia Becker of Cumberland, Iowa; her uncles, Chad Becker and his wife, Katie and their children, Tristan, Alex and Haley of rural Atlantic, Iowa, Trevor Becker and his wife, Katherine and their daughter, Sydney of Cumberland, Iowa, and JR Becker and his wife, Megan of Oakland, Iowa, numerous members of her extended family; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandma, Kelly Martens; paternal great-grandma, Zelma Collins; and maternal great-grandpa, Bud Martens.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, in the chapel at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic with Pastor Doug Durre officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in rural Cumberland, Iowa. Following the committal service, the family invites you to join them for lunch in the fellowship hall at the First Church of Christ, 1310 Southwest 7th Street, Atlantic.
