Jack C. Long, 89, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Anita.

Jack Chester Long was born on June 5, 1918, in Anita, Iowa, the son of Chester Arthur and Mae (Kaskey) Long.

Following retirement Jack began a 20 year career raising registered Black Angus Cattle. During his retirement his passion for farming and animals came to fruition. He loved the land, horses, black angus cattle, and all the stray cats and dogs, raccoons and deer that seemed to be drawn to his place. Most of all he loved people and no one was a stranger to him. Jack could draw anyone into a conversation with a smile on his face.
