Jamie Ray Lewis was born on August 15, 1952 to Elvira (Zinke) Lewis and James Russell Lewis. Jamies father died when Jamie was only six, so he grew up in Brayton and spent many hours with his mother in the grocery store. He graduated from Exira High school in 1971 and from Iowa State University in 1973 with an Associate degree in Engineering. In 1988 Jamie graduated with a degree in Economics from Drake University. Jamie married Diane DeBoer on April 1, 1990 in Sibley, Iowa and they made their home in Des Moines. Music was always an integral part of Jamies life. From playing in a band, working in recording studios, to doing sound at numerous events all over the nation and with all types of artists, he was always involved in the music industry. Jamies life ended on April 15, 2009 at his mothers home in Brayton. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother in law Doyle Larson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Diane of Des Moines, uncle Bernie Parde of Hamlin, aunt Annis Zinke of Exira, Sister in law Linda Larson of Rapid City, SD, Brother in Law Bart DeBoer and wife Sherry of Spencer, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
Visitation:
Family will meet friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa
Service:
Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock Monday, April 20, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Brayton Lutheran Church in Brayton, Iowa.
