Janet Lee Aggen, 58, of rural Anita, Iowa, died Friday October 31, 2014, at the home of her mother in Anita.
Janet Lee Aggen was born July 16, 1956, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Edward and Norma L. (Dorsey) Schaaf.
Janet graduated from Anita High School in 1974. After graduation, she studied nursing and then worked at Colonial Manor in Anita. She also provided day care for family and friends.
On August 17, 1975, Janet married Randy Aggen at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anita. She lived in Anita her entire life.
Janet was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anita, Women's Junior Federation, and she was a past president of the Anita Music Boosters. She loved gardening, flowers in her garden, and what nature had to offer. Janet was a good cook and her family had the benefit of tasting her recipes. She enjoyed antiquing, looking for rocks that she could place in her garden, taking care of the many pets she had, spending time watching all kinds of sports with Randy and spending time with family and friends during the holidays.
Surviving Janet is her husband, Randy of Anita, IA; two daughters, Erica (Gene) Totty of Anita, IA and Amye Aggen of Omaha, NE; one son, Jordan Aggen of Anita, IA; her mother, Norma Schaaf of Anita, IA; grandchildren, Hunter Frost, Claire, Ella and Emma Totty; one brother, Jeffery (Tanya) Schaaf of Pickrell, NE; a nephew, Tyler Schaaf; and three nieces, Lindsey Edie, Rachelle and Lindsay Allen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Edward Schaaf; her grandparents, Lesile and Mary Dorsey and William and Mildred Schaaf.
Visitation with family will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at St, Mary's Catholic Church in Anita, Iowa, with burial in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Atlantic IA.
Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
