Jeanne Jackson

Jeanne Marie Ehlert was born November 30, 1946, in Woodbine, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Hudson Beebe and Mamie Wilhelmina (Voss) Ehlert and passed away May 27, 2013, at her home in Anita, Iowa.

She graduated from Woodbine High School in 1964 and received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska, in 1968.

Jeanne was married to Robert Jackson August 6, 1967. The couple had two children, Jill Heather Jackson, who was born May 13, 1969, in Aberdeen, MD and Joel Christopher Jackson, who was born November 6, 1974, in Atlantic, Iowa.

During her career, Jeanne taught in Cumberland and Clearfield, then for 32 years at the Anita Elementary School.

Jeanne loved reading, gardening, walking and spending time with family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hudson and Mamie Ehlert, and her brother, Dennis Ehlert.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Robert Jackson of Anita, Iowa; her children, Jill Lickteig and her husband, Jerome of Elk Horn, Iowa, and Joel Jackson of Anita, Iowa; her brother, Roger(Jeanne) Ehlert and family of Haysville, KS; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Ehlert of Cambridge, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Anita, Iowa, with Rev. Ken Davidson officiating.

A time for lunch and fellowship will held after the memorial service at the Anita Community Center.

Memorials are suggested to the Anita Public Library, the Anita Citizens for Education Club (ACE Club) or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation.

Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Anita, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
