Jerry Norman Juhler, age 72, resident of Griswold Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, passed away Friday afternoon, November 17, 2023, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at America’s Best Value Inn & Suites, 1902 E 7th St, Atlantic, IA. He was born December 31, 1950, the son of Emery Norman Juhler and Anna (Wolff) Juhler, Jerry grew up on the family farm 3 miles south of Atlantic, IA on Hwy 71. He attended Country School Grove #5 with his sisters and surrounding neighbors. Later, he attended school in Atlantic, IA. Jerry was employed for several years at the Oakland Beef Packing plant and later at Henningsen’s Meat Processing. He taught himself the banjo and played locally with the “Just Cliff and Friends” band at the Exira 4th of July Celebration and other music festivals. Jerry enjoyed playing cards and games and watching country Western TV programs and movies. Jerry kept busy with grandchildren, long walks outdoors, and reading.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Christina Bradshaw (Rob) and their children Wesley and Alex of Omaha, NE, and his daughter Cathyren Miller (Bruce) and their children Isaac, Michael, and Jonathan of Evansville, IN; four surviving sisters Jeanette White of West Liberty IA, Judy Madden of Atlantic IA, Joyce Juhler of Riley KS, and Jean Templeman (Mervin) of Atlantic IA; nephews David Kirchner (deceased), Ricky Kirchner (Tressa), Todd Osborn (Rhonda), Nicolas Templeman (Dawn); Nieces Kandes Dalby, Denise Baird (Jeff), Marcella Fickbohm (Barry), Rebecca Bak (Mike). Many great nephews and nieces.
