Joanne Carol Gilbertsen

Joanne C. Gilbertsen, age 80, formerly of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at St. Joseph Villa Nursing & Rehab in Omaha, NE.

Joanne Carol Bennett the daughter of Joseph Bennett and Marion B (Stover) Reich, was born on November 13, 1942, in Long Beach, California. Throughout Joanne's life, she worked several jobs within many states. But her most cherished job was being the full-time caregiver and provider for her grandson, Johnny Mann. Joanne was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marion; children, Teri Ann Reich, Joseph "Joe" Pate, and Lori Lynn Mehman.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Sheri Cooper; 13 grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Stacy Williams Pate.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m, on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Atlantic, IA. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the funeral also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Atlantic Cemetery.
