John served in the United States Army and National Guard in the early 1980s. He worked at the Marriott and Embassy Suites as well as other food preparation jobs in Des Moines. He became a father in 2003. His son, Koletin, was his pride and joy. John moved to the Cass County area 7 years ago and worked for Henningsen Construction, P & W Egg and Southwest Egg.

John had a heart of gold and was always willing to listen and help anyone he could. He enjoyed fishing with friends and family. Family was important to him and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with them, especially his son. John had a wonderful sense of humor and was very fond of junk food. He will be dearly missed by many.
