Joyce Hagen

Joyce E. Hagen, 79, of Anita, Iowa, passed away December 8, 2006, at Cass County Memorial Hospital, in Atlantic, Iowa.
Joyce E. Aupperle was born on February 27, 1927, in Adair County, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Alta (Hutchins) Aupperle.
After graduating from Adair High School in Adair, Iowa, Joyce lived in California and Omaha, Nebraska. Following her marriage to Robert D. Hagen on July 13, 1952, in Adair, the couple lived in Anita.
She worked as a telephone operator, for what is now West Iowa Telephone, as well as working for Colonial Manor and Casey's General Store.
Joyce was a member of the Anita United Methodist Church, Garden Club, Card Club and various other organizations.
Her family will remember her pies and the way she worried about how everyone else was, instead of herself.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Robert D. Hagen of Anita, Iowa; children, Randy Hagen and his wife, Trudy of Anita, Iowa, Rodney Hagen of Anita, Iowa, Jeffrey Hagen and his wife, Angela of Ankeny, Iowa, Jerry Hagen of Anita, Janet Spry and her husband, Clint of Anita, Iowa; grandchildren, Michael Hagen and his wife, Toni of Anita, Iowa, Adam Hagen and his fiancée, Autumn of Atlantic, Iowa, JR Hagen and his fiancée, Sheena of Ankeny, Iowa, Jill Hagen of Urbandale, Iowa, Candace Hagen of Ankeny, Iowa, Nicole Spry of Brookings, South Dakota, and Corey Spry of Anita, Iowa; sisters, Wanda Brown of Anita, IA, Audrey Wahlert of Anita, IA, Delores Templeman and her husband, Charles of Atlantic, Iowa, Marlene Shannon and her husband, Jack of Madison, Ohio; brothers, Neil Aupperle and his wife, Jannes of Anita, Iowa, and Lowell Aupperle and his wife, Inez of Greenfield, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Aupperle.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2006, at the United Methodist Church, Anita, Iowa, with the Reverend Annette K. Ruhs Kruse officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.
Visitation will be from 12-6:00 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at the Hockenberry Funeral Home in Anita, Iowa.
