Joyce Maxine Jorgensen

October 27, 1930 — November 5, 2013

Joyce Maxine Jorgensen, the daughter of Samuel Clifford and Marie (Heiken) Reser, was born October 27, 1930, at her parents’ home in rural Kossuth County near Algona, Iowa and died November 5, 2013, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 83 years and 8 days. Joyce was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She attended Audubon Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1949. Joyce moved to Omaha, Nebraska and attended a secretarial school. She was employed at several different companies. In 1955, she was united in marriage to John Baatz. They lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Joyce was a homemaker for many years while she was raising their children. Later she worked for several companies including Falstaff, Frito Lay, Hilton and Holiday Inn until she retired. She moved to Mesa, Arizona then went to Apache Junction, Arizona. Joyce wasn’t happy not working so she became the manager of the Senior Center for many years. She married Howard Jorgensen on October 23, 1990 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Howard later died on August 11, 1992. Joyce continued helping at the Senior Center. On December 30, 2010, she moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa. Joyce was a member of the Red Hats Society. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters: Norma Bolton; Dale Reser; Joan Hutchins; and Rex Reser. Survivors include her children: Robert Campbell of Branson, Missouri; John Steven and wife Karen Baatz of Council Bluffs, Iowa; David Michael Baatz of Pacific Junction, Iowa; James Edward and wife Michelle Baatz of Neola, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her brother Garland and wife Starr Reser of Phoenix, Arizona; her brother-in-law: C.W. (Bill) and wife Marlene Hutchins of Apache Junction, Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service:
Following cremation, the family will have private memorial services at a later date.
