Judy Jane Kulla

Julia (Judy) Jane Kulla, the daughter of Marion and Arlene McDonald Miller, was born November 13, 1932, at her parents’ home in Lewis, Iowa, and died October 1, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 18 days. Judy was baptized at the First Christian Church in Audubon, Iowa and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended the Audubon Community Schools and graduated from the Audubon High School. On June 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ernest Kulla at the First Christian Church in Audubon. One son Craig was born to this union. Judy was employed by the V.F.W. in Audubon and also worked as a waitress in a local café. Judy was a member of the First Christian Church in Audubon then transferred her membership to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon when the Christian Church closed. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge # 459 in Audubon. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several card clubs. Judy enjoyed watching TV but she especially enjoyed watching sports. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Karl and wife Maxine Miller; her sisters Laura Jean and husband Clarence Remele and Shirley and husband Orville (Corky) Railsback; and her brother-in-law Gene King. Survivors include her husband Ernie Kulla of Audubon, Iowa, her son Craig and wife Nancy Kulla; her grandson Joshua Kulla and fiancee Suzanne Myszkowski all of Audubon; her sister-in-law Wanda King of Colorado; her nieces Janie and husband Ralph O’Tool of Malvern, Iowa, Sharon Law and special friend Jerry Tague both of Sioux City, Iowa, Pam and husband Lon Firebaugh of The Colony, Texas, Annette and husband Richard Kent of Guthrie Center, Iowa; several great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Tuesday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bradley Ketcham on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
