Kathryn Ward

Kathryn M. Ward, 68, of Wiota, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, at
the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.
Kathryn Mardell Ward was born on August 15, 1938, in Bridgewater, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Zella (Sewell) Hair. She attended school in Corning and Fontanelle.
On July 10, 1958, Kathryn was married to Larry L. Ward in Anita, Iowa. After their marriage they made numerous moves, while Larry was in the service.
She and her husband, Larry owned the Wiota Steakhouse.
Kathryn enjoyed working in her flower garden and was proud of her collections of Precious Moments and angels. She was a wonderful cook, loved to cook and teach her family the art of cooking.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Larry of Wiota, Iowa; a son, Larry Ward Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Atlantic; two daughters, Barbara Mitchell, and her husband, Kenney of Atlantic, Iowa, and Debra Kuhns, and her husband, Mike of Casey, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew Baker of Wiota, Iowa, Bryant Mitchell and C.J. Mitchell, both of Atlantic, Iowa, and Sean Ward of Casey, Iowa; a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Ward of Casey, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Velma Hair of Atlantic, Iowa and Leta Hair of Greenfield, Iowa, and Nola Brown and her husband, Bob of Anita, Iowa; four brothers-in-law, Don Ward and his wife, Jeri of Atlantic, Iowa, Howard Ward and his wife, Barb of Grant, Iowa, Kenny Ward and his wife, Judy of Lincoln, Nebraska, Richard Ward and his wife, Janie of Plano, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all her brothers and sisters; and three sisters-in-law.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the Southlawn Memory Gardens in Atlantic, Iowa. There is no visitation scheduled.
