Kenney Mitchell

Kenney Bryant Mitchell, 61, of Wiota, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his home in Wiota, Iowa.


Kenny was born November 21, 1951, in Oakland, California, the son of Cleo and Bonnie (Bryant) Mitchell. He was married to Barbara Ward on June 1, 1985.


He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1973.


Kenney is survived by his wife, Barbara Mitchell; his sons Bryant Mitchell and C.J. Mitchell, his step-son Matthew Baker; his siblings, Cliff and Sue Mitchell of West Palm Beach, FL, Sharon Davis of Sioux City, IA, Bob Mitchell of Bronson, IA, Mary and Mark Thompson of Bronson, IA, Jackie and Kevin Ogren of Carrington, N.D. and Sheila and Rick Mefferd of Bonner Springs, KS and other relatives and many friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Bonnie Mitchell.


Celebration of life and memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at the Wiota City Park, Wiota, IA. This will be a potluck picnic


Family suggests memorials to the family to be used per Kenney's wishes. .


Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
