Linda Christensen

Linda Sue Christensen, 60, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

She was born April 23, 1955, in Atlantic, IA, the daughter of Glenn and Margaret (Henry) Jensen. Linda attended Jackson elementary and Atlantic Middle and High schools. She was united in marriage December 12, 1976, to Steve Christensen in Atlantic.

Linda lived her entire life in Atlantic. She worked as a teacher's aide at Jackson Elementary for a few years. Linda loved children, working with them, helping them and just being around them. She had an in-home day care for a few years and also worked at day cares around town including Wee Care and Kids Come First. Linda was still working for Kids Come First when she had to retire for health reasons.

Linda's greatest love and passion was of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of them and attending their activities and sporting events. Linda was always their greatest fan. In her free time, Linda loved to read, sit on her front porch, go to garage sales, people watch and go shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Christensen; her children, Kenny (Crystal) Christensen, Michella (Ben) Bartholomew and Dicey Christensen; her grandchildren, Brett and Kerra Christensen, Jyden, Mia and Lexi Trotter, Bodie and Clevi Johnson, and Libertie and Merci Bartholomew; her sister, Connie Beaty, all of Atlantic, IA; other relatives and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Margaret Jensen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa.

There will be a time for visitation at a lunch at Hockenberry's following the memorial service.

A private interment of cremains will take place at a later time.
