Linda Marie Paulsen

Linda Marie Paulsen, the daughter of Harry Walter and Eleanor Mary Hoch McAllister, was born September 1, 1949, in Chariton, Iowa and died July 29, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa at the age of 58 years, 10 months, and 28 days.
Linda was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Church in Melcher, Iowa. She attended Melcher-Dallas Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1967. Linda moved to Des Moines, Iowa and was employed at the Iowa State Department of Revenue.
On June 28, 1969, she was united in marriage to Perry D. Paulsen at Sacred Heart Church in Melcher. Four sons were born to this union. They moved to Exira and Linda was employed as a secretary at H. Gene McKeown and Associates, Inc Consulting Engineers in Atlantic, Iowa for a few years. She was the Activities Director at the Exira Care Center for several years. Since that time Linda and her sister Kay owned and operated Stage II a clothing consignment store in Exira.
Linda was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira and also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Linda was a strong advocate of the Exira School System and also served on the School Board for several years. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed golfing, spending time watching her grandchildren at ball games and riding her bike. She enjoyed baking and trying new recipes.
Preceding her in death were her infant son Christopher Jay Paulsen; her father Harry W. McAllister; her brother Trevor A. McAllister; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lester and Doris Paulsen.
Survivors include her husband Perry D. Paulsen of Exira, IA; her children: Aaron and Shelley Paulsen; Alec and Cindy Paulsen and Isaac Paulsen; her grandchildren: Taylor Paulsen, Jacob Paulsen, Christopher Paulsen, William Stultz; Benjamin Stultz, all of Exira; her mother Eleanor M. McAllister of Melcher, IA; her brother and sisters: Kay and Mike Rasmussen of Exira; Roberta and James Ryan of Polk City, IA; Dean and Diane McAllister of Leslie, AR; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Janice and Norm Gillihan of Manchester, IA; Kent and Kathy Paulsen and David Paulsen, all of Exira; Vicki and Noel McKibben of Adel, IA; Rhonda and Jerry Chase of Dow City, IA; Mark and Dana Paulsen of Exira; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Exira.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Thursday evening at 6:00 with a Scripture Service at 7:00 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Service:
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Wayne Gubbels and Father Michael Berner on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira, IA.
