Lorraine Marie Anderson

Lorraine Marie Anderson, the daughter of Edward and Laura (Deist) Jensen, was born September 25, 1922, at her parents’ home in Leroy Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died November 4, 2012, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 9 days. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at the Ross Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ross, Iowa. She attended Audubon Community Schools graduating from the Audubon High School. Growing up, Lorraine helped on the family farm doing chores and helping to care for her mother. On September 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to Oral Anderson at the Ross Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ross, Iowa. Six children: Larry, JoAnn, Delores, Beverly, James, and Nancy were born to this union. Oral was a truck driver and Lorraine was a homemaker for many years lovingly raising their children. Oral died February 16, 1967. Lorraine was employed as a waitress for several restaurants in and around the Audubon area until she retired. She later moved to Carroll, Iowa and worked as a Grandparent helper where she helped the children at Fairview Elementary School. Lorraine enjoyed her home in Carroll where she was close to her daughters. Recently she moved to the St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Lorraine enjoyed being with people but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Oral; her son Larry Anderson; her son-in-law Jeff Knight; her grandsons: Troy Haskins and Matthew Borkowski; her parents; her brother Harold Jensen; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Martin and Margaret Anderson; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Paul and June Anderson, H. Gene Anderson, and Lucille Jensen. Survivors include her children: JoAnn and husband Alan Haskins of Audubon, Iowa, Delores Knight of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Beverly Anderson and husband Terri Richter of Carroll, Iowa, James and wife Joy Anderson of Johnston, Iowa, and Nancy and husband Dwight Huffman of Carroll, Iowa; her daughter-in-law Janice and husband LaVerne Jensen of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren: Shelly (Mike) Jensen, Jeff (Jennifer) Anderson, Loni Anderson (Mike Steffes), Tracy ( Tami) Borkowski, Angie (Todd) Baker, Annie (Mark) Beasley, Anthony (Michelle) Hofbauer, Christy Crozier (John Dunn), Jerremy Hofbauer, Eric Anderson, Jamey Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Amber Anderson, Piper Anderson, Chasity Anderson, Beau Huffman, Cody (Shauni) Huffman, Craig ( Julie) Jensen, Gary (Linda) Jensen and Brian (Brandi) Jensen; 43 great grandchildren; 11 great, great grandchildren, sister-in-law Lois Jensen of Madrid, Iowa, Wynona Anderson of Audubon, Iowa, brothers-in-law Merle (Joyce) Anderson of Eudora, Kansas, and Marvin (Valetta) Jensen of Audubon, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa.
