Louise A. Krogman, 97, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007, at Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa.
Louise Matilda Anna Krogman was born January 17, 1910, south of Wiota in Cass County, Iowa, the daughter of Theodor and Eleonore (Schmieding) Krogman.
She attended Cumberland schools and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1927. She extended her education at the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri. Louise was employed in the office at Swift & Co. and Metropolitan Life Insurance in Atlantic and Carroll, Iowa. She was very much interested in the nursing profession and worked as a nurses' aide at the Municipal Hospital in Atlantic. In 1967, she was a secretary for the Southwest Health Center in Atlantic.
Louise was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church, south of Wiota, and became a member of Zion Lutheran Church when she and her parents moved to Atlantic.
She was a very simple woman and made all of her own dresses. Louise took care of every cat that crossed her path. Her Christian faith, patience, and long suffering will be remembered by those who knew her.
Louise is survived by her cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ella Bartels; and brother-in-law, Walter Bartels.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007, in the chapel at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, with the Reverend Ken Davidson of the Zion Lutheran Church officiating. There will be a time for refreshments and visitation following the service in Hockenberry's Community Room.
Burial will be 8:30 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2007, in the Atlantic Cemetery.
