Luella Adams

Luella A. Adams, 85, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at Atlantic Specialty Care.

Luella Arlene Carr was born December 28, 1930, to Bert and Lulu (Anderson) Carr Sr. in Atlantic, Iowa. She spent most of her life in Atlantic. On February 16, 1963, she married Donald D. Adams in Lincoln, Nebraska. They owned and operated the Gambles Hardware store in Atlantic for many years.

Luella enjoyed children, gardening, bowling and working at the store.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Don; a grandson, Joshua Adams; and sisters, Violet (Earl) Inman and Louise (Dean) Morgan.

Surviving Luella is her son, Bill (Cindy) Adams of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, Zachary Adams and fiancé Makayla Hudson of West Des Moines, IA and Wyndi (James) Johnson of Gallup, NM; great-grandchild, Allister Johnson of Gallup, NM; sister, Virginia Nichols of Atlantic, IA; and brother, Bert Carr Jr. of Atlantic, IA; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
