Lyle James Sheets

Lyle James Sheets, the son of Lawrence James and Opal Grace (Feltner) Sheets, was born October 13, 1941, in Adel, Iowa and died July 21, 2017 at the Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 8 days.
Lyle attended school near Elk Horn, Iowa and the Elk Horn High School. Lyle then was employed by Schmidt Masonry in Audubon, Iowa for many years. Later he worked construction for Harold Thompson until Harold closed the business. Lyle then was employed as a truck driver for Thermogas. He worked maintenance at Littlefield Lake until he retired. Lyle lived at home until he moved to the Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa on January 20, 2017.
Lyle served in the National Guard for seven years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sisters Dorothy Sheets and Janice Spooner.
Survivors include his brother Roger and wife Diane Sheets of Exira, Iowa; his nephews Jeff Mulford of Harlan, Iowa and Rick Sheets of Exira, Iowa; other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa
