Marjorie Lucille Plummer, 95, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, at Caring Acres Nursing & Rehab Center in Anita, Iowa.

Lucille was born January 10, 1919, in Cass County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mabel (Kohl) Simon. She attended the Anita schools. On June 8, 1940, she was united in marriage to Robert Plummer in Maryville, Missouri. Lucille and Robert farmed south of Adair, Iowa, for many years until they moved into town in Adair. They were also long time members of the Adair Presbyterian Church. In 1994 they moved to Anita. Robert passed away June 2, 1995.

Lucille was an excellent cook and was famous to her family for her traditional holiday meals that included homemade noodles and chocolate cake with thick fudge frosting. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit and always had cookies and candy waiting for them.

Lucille is survived by her children, Roger (Marlene) Plummer of Omaha, NE, Sue (Tom) Wall of Urbandale, IA, and Jane Mehlmann of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruby Watkins of Aurora, CO; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Plummer; her parents, Henry and Mabel Simon; siblings, Iva Mae Pearson, Ruth Simon at infancy and Harold Simon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour before, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Anita, following the funeral service.
