Mabel M. Ruth, 92, of Tabor, Iowa, (formerly of the Adair-Casey area) passed away, Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Tabor Manor Care Center.
Mabel Marie Kading was born on September 22, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Stolk) Kading in Adair County, Iowa.
She was baptized on November 14, 1915, and confirmed on April 13, 1930, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa. Mabel graduated from Casey High School in 1933.
On February 2, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clinton B. Ruth at the Lutheran Parsonage in Casey, Iowa. They farmed in Adair County until moving to Adair in 1979. In 1996, Mabel moved to the Tabor Manor Care Center in Tabor, Iowa.
Mabel became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adair on November 21, 1993, following Clinton's death.
She loved gardening and flowers. Mabel also enjoyed cooking.
Mabel is survived by her sons, Marvin E. Ruth and his wife, Annemarie of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Edgar E. Ruth and his wife, Beverly of Wimberley, Texas; daughter, Marlene K. Plummer and her husband, Roger of Omaha, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Kading of Omaha, Nebraska, and Margaret Brewer of Stuart, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Kading; her husband, Clinton in 1992; her grandson, Ricky Ruth; her brother, Glen Kading; and her sister, Helen Warner.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adair, Iowa, with Reverend Leon Hodges officiating.
Burial will be at the Sunnyhill Cemetery in Adair, Iowa.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
