Mardelle Nancarrow

Mary Mardelle Nancarrow, the daughter of Edward and Edna Luke Tibben, was born December 17, 1917, on her parents farm east of Exira in Audubon Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died July 17, 2009, at the Exira Care Center at the age of 91 years and 7 months.
Mardelle was baptized at the Exira Christian Church. She attended rural schools in Audubon Township and graduated from the Exira High School with the Class of 1934. She then taught in rural schools in East Audubon County and West Guthrie County, Iowa.
On May 19, 1940, she was united in marriage to Earl Francis Nancarrow at her parents home east of Exira. They operated farms east of Exira, then purchased Earls fathers farm in 1957. They retired from farming in 1993 and lived on the farm until they moved into Exira in September of 2000. Earl died April 21, 2003. Mardelle enjoyed her home, then moved to the Exira Care Center in 2005.
Mardelle was an active member of the Exira Christian Church until her health became a problem. She served as deaconess, worship committee chairman, and was active in the Christian Womens Fellowship. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Tuesday Klatter Club.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents; her sisters: Gwendolyn Davis and Myrna and husband Edward Rabe; her brothers-in-law: Jim Nancarrow and Eldred Nancarrow; her sister-in-law Nina Belle Scoe and her niece Linda Nancarrow.
Survivors include her son Stephen and Susan Nancarrow of Exira, IA; her grandchildren: Kristine and David Schwab of Omaha, NE and Jeffrey Nancarrow of Daytona Beach, FL; her great-grandson Tyler Schwab of Omaha; her sister Jeanne Nancarrow of Atlantic, IA; her sister-in-law Alene Nancarrow of Exira; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Monday evening at 6:00 at Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Alan Finestead on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Exira Christian Church.
