Margaret L. Howard, 82, of Creston died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Pastor Gary DeGeest will officiate.
Burial will be at the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic.
Visitation with family receiving friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. service time Saturday, at the Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Memorials are to be established.
Powers Funeral Home of Creston and Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Margaret Louise Howard, was born January 17, 1926 to Ona Marie (Johnston) Blomquist in Howe, Iowa. She was educated in Menlo Schools.
On June 21, 1942, she marriaged Rex Caldwell Howard in Kirkville, Missouri. They settled and farmed in the Menlo area and later moved to Guthrie Center, Adair and Exira. Margaret moved to Atlantic and worked for K-Mart until moving to Creston in 1997.
She was a member of the Rawhider Saddle Club, where she showed Quarter and Appaloosa Horses.
Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Yaw of Creston and Debbie Howard-Rauls (husband Roddy Rauls) of Anahiem, Calif.; a son, Gary (wife Sally) Howard of Des Moines; nine grandchildren: Kelly Deaver, Tracey (husband Donnie) Kingrey, Shawn Nye, Richard Williamson, Ron (wife Mary) Williamson, Rusty (wife Tami) Williamson, Roger (wife Tammy) Williamson, Jason Rauls and Amanda Rauls; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex in 1986 and a brother, Eddie Johnston.
