Marty Kinzie

d. December 23, 2011

Marty Dean Kinzie was born July 26, 1955, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Cecil Dean and Joyce Lorene (Dorsey) Kinzie and passed away Friday, December 23, 2011, at his home in Anita, Iowa.

He lived with his family on a farm north of Anita until he was 10 years old. He then moved to his home on Michigan Ave. where he has lived ever since. Marty was a member of the Anita High School class of 1974.
As a teen, Marty worked at Manly Truck Plaza as a station attendant and with Howard Scarlett doing masonry work. Later, he was co-owner of Kinzie Service in Anita, with his father. Most recently he worked every Wednesday, at Kinzie Tire Service in Stuart, with his nephew, Donnie.

Marty was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the NRA and the Anita United Methodist Church.

He was named after his father's favorite musician, Marty Robbins. Marty inherited his family's love of music, playing the guitar in two bands, ACE and Livin' Country. In his spare time, Marty enjoyed cruising in his van listening to music, fishing, hunting, bird watching and gardening with his sister, Tina. More recently, he cherished a fishing trip with his brother and nephews. After the trip Marty gave his nephew, Nathan, a small gift because he enjoyed the trip so much and was so amazed with the way Nathan fished. He loved his dogs, and thought of them as his children. Marty also enjoyed spending time on the computer playing games and watching the Three Stooges, Garfield and WWE wrestling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Joyce, and his sister, Tina Kinzie.

Marty is survived by his sister, Valerie (Lyle Sr.) Robbins of Anita; brothers, Bob (Lisa) Leftridge of Treynor, Jeff Kinzie of Anita and Stan (Sue) Kinzie of Anita; his nieces and nephews, Chuck (Andi) Kinzie of Anita, Donnie (Kim) Kinzie of Stuart, Lylina (Doug) Ditmar of Elkader, Lyle Jr.(Stacy) Robbins, of Harlan, Angel (Jerry Jr.) Richards of Creston, Betty Jean (B.J.)
