Marvin Jensen Johnson, the son of Harry and Daisy Jensen Johnson, was born December 4, 1921 at his parents home in Cass County near Anita, Iowa and died at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 10 days.
Marvin was baptized June 24, 1926 at the Exira Lutheran Church. He attended rural school for a short time then helped on the family farm. He lived with his parents. His mother died first and following the death of his father, he moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon in 1978.
Marvin enjoyed his time at the Friendship Home. He helped the dining room staff clear the dishes after meals and could be seen taking his daily walk around the entrance of the home.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents; were his three brothers: Leonard Johnson, Roscoe Johnson, and LeRoy Johnson.
Survivors include his sister; Phyllis and husband James Fowler of Council Bluffs, IA; his nieces: Tammie and husband Bill Obermeier of Minden, IA, and Cindy and husband Bob Stuart of Logan, IA; his great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cemetery:
Inurnment will be in the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery west of Exira.
Visitation:
Friends may call at their convenience at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. The family will meet with friends Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Service:
Following cremation the family will have a private Celebration of Life Memorial Service conducted by Pastor Dwayne Ferguson
