Mary Anne Anstey, 66, of Atlantic, Iowa, and formerly of Massena, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mary Anne Anstey was born December 22, 1939, in Atlantic, Iowa, to John (Jack) M. and Rachel A. (Devine) McLaren. She attended grade school and graduated from Massena High School. In June of 1959 she married Larry Anstey in Massena, Iowa. They later divorced in 1980. She lived all of her life in the Massena and Atlantic areas.
She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mary Anne worked various jobs throughout her life but was most proud of being a mother to her four children. Her children and her grandsons were the most important part of her life, along with her cat, Salem. She will be remembered by the many friends she met everywhere she went.
Mary Anne is survived by two sons: Greg Anstey and Anthony Anstey; two daughters, Kelli Anstey and Jodi Anstey and her companion Delbert Littleton; two grandsons, Chris Anstey and Shea Young all from Atlantic, Iowa; three brothers, John McLaren, and his wife Carolyn, of Branson, Missouri, Joe McLaren, and his wife Jackie, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Phil McLaren and his wife Lana, of Massena, Iowa; one sister, Toni Powell, and her husband Cleve, of Massena, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Mary Anne in death were her parents, Jack and Rachel McLaren.
Public visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 24th at Hockenberry Family Care.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Dan Siepker officiating. Following the memorial service the family invites you to join them for a luncheon at the Catholic Parish Hall. The committal of ashes will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Massena, Iowa, following the luncheon.
