Maxine Schwartz

Maxine K. Schwartz, 98, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa.

She was born July 3, 1917, on her mother's family farm near Adair, IA, to Walter Seeley and Jessie (Kelloway) Rowley. Mick moved to Atlantic when she was 6 and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1935. After high school, she worked in Civil Service for the War Department in Rock Island, IL; the Department of Agriculture in Minneapolis, MN; and the War Production Board in Providence, RI.
On June 21, 1941, she married Robert Talbot Dalton in Kansas City, MO. After World War II, they returned to Atlantic in 1946 where she worked in Bob's law office. Bob passed away in 1979.

On January 2, 1980, she married Edward Dale Schwartz in Las Vegas, NV. They began spending winters in Pharr, TX, and eventually moved there. Dale passed away in 1995 and Mick returned to Atlantic.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and Past President of BPO Does.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her sister Ruth Naomi Seaman.

Mick is survived by her nieces, Kathryn Ann Voge of Harlan, IA and Jessie Marie Logan of Goshen, VA; Dale's daughters Carolyn Key, Jeanene Muller, Sue Hunt, and Cathy Baggenstoss and their families; Kay's children, David (Angela) and Donna Gross and their families; and Jessie's children, Theresa (Bret) Beeton, Lisa (David) Peart, Alan (Courtney) Hamm, Steven (Courtney) Hamm and Kelly (Neal) Koenig and their families.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Heritage House in Atlantic.

Open viewing will be held from 1:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, and 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.

There will be no visitation with the family.

There will be a private family burial.

Memorials may be made to Heritage House.
