Michael Dennis

Michael Paul Dennis was born November 1, 1947, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of David Francis and Eileen Rose (Johnson) Dennis and passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa.

He was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. Mike graduated from the Atlantic High School and Iowa Western Community College from the welding program. He was employed at Atlantic Steel Erectors, American Builders and most recently at Railroad Bridge Services.

He was a member of Nishna Hills Golf Club and a past member of the Atlantic Volunteer Fire Department.

Mike was the life of the party and liked to socialize. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Dennis, and his brother, George Dennis.

Mike is survived by his wife, Betty Dennis of Atlantic; his children, Mike (Suzanne) Dennis and their children, Paige, Haile and Hunter of Casey and Michelle (Matt) Redinbaugh and their children, Kyle and Wyatt of Atlantic; his mother, Eileen Dennis of Atlantic; his stepchildren, Mike Noe of Des Moines, Marty (Betsy) Noe of Gilbert and Nancy Hellman of Omaha, Nebraska; his siblings, Dave (Patty) Dennis of Redding, California, Bob (Pat) Dennis of Atlantic, Carol Hansen of Spencer and Bill (Cathy) Dennis of Anita; his step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with funeral services on Monday, February 18, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. both at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic.
