Milford (Mick) Elmer Pardee, the son of Elmer Don and Opal Lavina Smart Pardee, was born May 13, 1923, at his parents’ home in Lewis, Iowa and died August 24, 2012 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 11 days. Mick was baptized as an adult on May 13, 1975 at Winther’s Pond by Pastor Ron Mortensen. He attended various schools through the 8th grade. At age twelve Mick moved to help his grandfather farm. On May 23, 1942 he was united in marriage to Lois McKibbin in Maryville, Missouri. Five daughters were born to this union. They operated his grandfather’s farm for a short time then rented farm north of Oakfield, Iowa for several years. Mick then became a mechanic and worked with his father-in-law Ernie McKibben at his shop Auto-Electric Service. During this time Mick would also attended classes to further his mechanical education. He worked with Ernie and other mechanics then in 1969 he opened his own shop Mick’s Auto Shop which he operated for several years then was employed as a mechanic with the Audubon Community Schools until he retired. Mick was a member of the Christian Church in Audubon. Mick enjoyed fishing but his love was farming and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed woodworking, raising tropical fish, and collecting coins. Preceding him in death is his infant daughter Patty Jo Pardee; his daughter Mona Larsen; his parents; his sister Lorraine and husband Virgil Peffer; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lucille and husband Bill Loshbaw; Lola and husband Herb Hentschel; Chuck McKibbin. Survivors include his wife Lois Pardee of Audubon, Iowa; his daughters: Marcella and husband Russ Possehn of Ankeny, Iowa; Margie and husband Dave Adams of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Melinda and husband Dwaine Simonsen of Carroll, Iowa; his son-in-law: Steve and wife Barb Larsen of Branson, Missouri; his grandchildren: Clint and wife Dawn Madsen of Englewood, Colorado; Dan and wife Nicki Possehn of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Angie Madsen of Boston, Massachusetts; Nicki and husband Josh Klever of Audubon; Katie Madsen of West Des Moines, Iowa; Gayle and husband Evan Anderson of Carroll, Iowa; his great grandsons: Cameron Klever and Conner Klever both of Audubon; his sister-in-law Pat McKibbin of Bellevue, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

. Inurnment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.
Visitation:
The family will meet friends Monday afternoon September 3, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.
Service:
Celebration of life memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Monday, September 3, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
