Milton Marvin Duckett was born August 21, 1933, the son of Marvin J. and Beatrice Valentine (Means) Duckett in Osceola, Iowa, and passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Milt grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, graduating from East High School in Des Moines.
He was united in marriage to Dixie Clover in Des Moines in February 1952. To this union three children were born, Marvin John, Cindi and Pam.
In 1977 he married Janet Dehming. To this union a daughter, Shannon, was born.
Milt worked in sales most of his life, including for his father in sales at Duckett Ford Sales in Hampton, Iowa. The family moved to Cleveland, Minnesota in 1965, where he managed Duckett's Resort.
Milt moved to Texas in 1972, where he sold mobile homes and later owned Milt's Auto Sales. There he met and married Madaleen Carol Bridewell on December 22, 1984. They moved to Kilgore, Texas in 1988, where they owned and operated a mobile home park. In 2003, the couple moved to their current home in Massena, Iowa.
Milt loved stock car racing, whether live or on T.V. He attended the races at the Adams County Speedway in Corning as often as possible, and was an avid follower of the Spieker Race Team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Beatrice Duckett; his son, Marvin J. Duckett II; and his daughter, Pamela Duckett-Tofuri.
Survivors include his wife, Madaleen Duckett of Massena, Iowa, daughters, Cindi Hass and husband, Scott of Webster, Minnesota, and Shannon Duckett and friend Kenny Crane of Kasota, Minnesota; step-daughter Carolyn Faye and husband, Nick of Kilgore, Texas; three grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service for Milton on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Massena Baptist Church.
