With great sadness, we announce the passing of Nancy Lovell, age 74 of Adair, IA, a beloved mother, and grandmother who departed from this world on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Community Care Center. Nancy was born to Lester and Helen Mangeldorf on July 3, 1949, in Atlantic, IA.
She and Jack Lovell had sons, Danny, Jason, and Matthew, who they adored. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa for a time then moved back to Adair, IA.
Upon the marriage of Nancy to James “Bob” Lovell in 1984, a daughter Nicole was born. Bob and Nancy ran Jesse James Store and operated Bob’s Tavern until Bob passed away in 1991. Nancy then went to work for Schafer Systems/Owner Revolutions until she retired.in 2015. Nancy was blessed to be able to enjoy many years with her companion, John Tiedemann until his passing in 2015.
Nancy was known for her vibrant spirit and boundless love, Nancy brought joy to all who knew her. Her passion for gardening bloomed in the beauty of her carefully tended flowers, reflecting the love and care she poured into every aspect of her life. Whether she was nurturing her garden or showering her grandchildren with affection, Nancy embraced life with an open heart and generous spirit. Nancy devoted her life to her family. She cherished the moments shopping with her loved ones, it was not always about finding the perfect item, but about the bonds formed and memories made along the way. She also enjoyed her furry companions, they brought her much love, comfort, and happiness.
Nancy is survived by her son, Matthew Lovell (Ashley)of Adair and daughter, Nicole Stephens (Jacob) of Lenox, IA; grandchildren, Deven of Kansas City, MO, Tyler, Jayden both of Lenox, IA and Hank of Adair, IA. Her sister, Linda Nichols of Adair and her aunt Betty Lents (Jim) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Robert Lovell, and John Tiedemann; and her sons, Danny and Jason Lovell, and an infant brother, Larry.
Nancy will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. The vibrant colors of the garden, the birds chirping, and the warmth of her embrace will serve as lasting reminders of the impact she had on others.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Adair, Iowa with Rev. Susanne Gerlach officiating. Visitation with the family present will be held from 9 am till the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery south of Adair.
