Naomi Janis Peppers, the daughter of Clarke and Beatrice Davis Boers, was born May 27, 1927, in Ross, Iowa and died June 29, 2008, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 2 days.
Naomi was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Audubon. She attended Audubon Public Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1945. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she was employed as an operator by the telephone company. She later returned to the Audubon area.
On November 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to June Peppers in Atchison, KS. Six children were born to this union. They owned and operated taverns in the Audubon and Cass County areas for 33 years until they retired. She enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed baseball. She was an avid Cubs fan. June died February 19, 2002. Naomi lived in her home until she moved to the Exira Care Center in Exira on March 19, 2008.
Naomi was a member of the Exira Christian Church. She was the president of the Exira Community Club in 1979. She served on the City Council..and served out a 2 year term in 2006-2007. She had been Mayor Pro-Tem in ..

Asberry; and Bart and Beth Peppers, all of Exira, IA; her grandchildren: Kimberly and Trent Josten of Solon, IA; Matthew and Leslie Bintner of Des Moines, IA; Hillary Peppers of Marshall, MN; Sonya Brock of Bloomington, IL: Kevin Sorensen of West Des Moines, IA; Brooke Hansen of Brayton, IA; Brett Hansen and fiance Amy of Exira, IA; Amber and Ryan Wilson of Exira; Ryan Adkins of Iraq; Kylie Larsen and Brad; Lacey Heinrichs all of Exira; Estee Asberry of Des Moines, IA; Chad Asberry of Junction City, KS; Blake Asberry and Lexi Asberry, both of Exira; Courtney, Madelyn, Nicholas, Drew, Sophia Peppers, all of Exira; her great-grandchildren: Tessa Bintner of Des Moines; Miya Brock and Michael Brock of Bloomington, IL; Trevan Hansen of Brayton; Evan, Shelbi, and Eric Wilson, all of Exira; her brother Dalton Richard (Bud) and Verna Boers of Lake Havasu, AZ; her sister-in-law Ruth Peppers of Exira; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will meet friends Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. until service time at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.
Service:
Memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 3:30 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.
