Naomi Jean Wilkinson

March 31, 1930 — September 17, 2008

Naomi (Jean) Wilkinson, the daughter of Roy Richard and Evelyn Naomi Evans Stookesberry, was born March 31, 1930, at her parents home in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa and died September 17, 2008, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
Jean was baptized at the United Christian Church in Bloomfield. She attended Bloomfield Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1949. She then was employed as a secretary at several different businesses.
On May 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Jack Wilkinson at the United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. They lived near Bloomfield, then in 1962 they moved to Audubon, Iowa. Jean was employed as a secretary at Audubon Implement until she retired in 1979 due to her failing health. Jean and Jack enjoyed camping and Jean loved to baby-sit for her grandchildren. Jean enjoyed her home, then moved to the Exira Care Center in August of 2007.
Jean became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon on January 26, 1964. She had served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Audubon County Travelers.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Floyd and Ione Wilkinson; her sister Wauneta and Jim Marlette; her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: James Robert Wilkinson; Noel and Wilma Jean Ritz; and her nephew Rick Honn.
Survivors include her husband Jack R. Wilkinson of Audubon, IA; her children: Jill and Ted Peer of Ankeny, IA; Jodi and Dennis Deist of Audubon; her grandchildren: Derek and Genelle Deist of Audubon; Jackie and Jeremy Karns of Waterloo, IA; Ryan Peer of Windsor Heights, IA; her great -grandchildren: Jackson Deist, Eli Deist, and Oliver Deist, all of Audubon; her sister-in-law Iris Wilkinson of Glendale, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Friday evening at 6:30 at Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dwayne Ferguson on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Audubon.
