Norma Jayne

Norma Jean Jayne, 76, a longtime Exira resident, passed away Monday, September 3, at the Exira Care Center, Exira, Iowa.

Norma Jean Jayne was born on May 31, 1931, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Verl and Ethel (Templeman) Freeman.

She lived the majority of her life in Exira and graduated from Exira High School.

Jeanie married Gus Struble and following his death she later married Claude Jayne.

She worked as an Avon Representative for many years. Norma also worked at the Exira Care Center, Exira Café and DeLongs in Atlantic.

Jeanie was a member of the First Christian Church in Exira and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed shopping and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her extended family.

Norma is survived by step-son, Denny Jayne of Lewis, Iowa; sister-in-law, Harriet Jayne of Exira, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Verl and Ethel Freeman; husband, Gus Struble; son, David Jayne; and a brother, Ronald "Skip" Freeman.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m, Friday, September 7, 2007, at the Exira Cemetery, Exira, Iowa, with the Reverend Robert Hennick of the Exira Christian Church
officiating.

The family invites you to join them for a luncheon and a time of fellowship, following the burial, at the Exira Christian Church.

Cremation has taken place and no visitation is scheduled.
