Norma Jean Lensch

Norma Jean Lensch, the daughter of Elton and Beulah Roush Sale, was born October 28, 1928,in Creston, Iowa and died September 5, 2010, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
Norma was baptized at the Presbyterian Churchin Afton, Iowa. She attended and graduated from the Afton Community Schools. She was employed as a telephone operator for several years in Afton and also worked at the Afton Caf as a waitress. During this time she was married and four children were born to this union. Later Norma, was a bookkeeper for Holts Plumbing. In 1967 she moved to Atlantic, Iowa and was a bookkeeper for Lensch Plumbing and Heating in Exira, Iowa. In 1971 she moved to Exira.
Norma was united in marriage to Wendell L. Lensch in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they operated their business until they retired and sold the business in 1993. Norma enjoyed her home then moved to the Exira Care Center on December 9, 2007.
Norma took care of her mother before she died. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed collecting crafts and knick knacks. She was an avid bird watcher and especially enjoyed watching cardinals.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband: Wendell L. Lensch of Exira, Iowa; her children: Timothy Hartsook and fiance Rosa NiemeyerofLa PorteCity, Iowa, Deanna and husband Guy Blagg of Granger, Iowa, Marsha and husband Steve Milder of Maynard, Iowa and Scott Hartsook and partner Dennis Groenenboomof Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren: Matt Milder of Fayette, Iowa, Mark and wife Lisa Milder of Denver, Iowa, Shelley Blagg and fianc Paul Stevensof San Antonio, Texas, Randy Blagg and fiance Sylvia Weberof Des Moines, Iowa, Jasmine Hartsook of Seattle, Washington; her great grandchildren: Hunter Pion of Newton, Iowa, Mackenzie Milder and Alexis Milder both of Denver, Iowa; her brother: David Sale of Amana, Iowa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The casket bearers will be her grandchildren Matt Milder,Mark Milder, Shelley Blagg, Randy Blagg, and Jasmine Hartsook.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Tuesday, September 7, 2010, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Steven Frock on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.
