Patricia Donohoe, 86, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Pat was born September 4, 1929, in Griswold, Iowa, to Vernon LaForest and Gladys Isabell (Neer) Dean. She grew up in Griswold, Iowa, and graduated from Griswold High School in 1948 and remained in the Griswold area until her marriage to Bill (DeVee) Donohoe on October 29, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After they were married, they moved to the Walnut area where they lived until 1997 at which time they moved to Atlantic.
She worked as a cook in the Walnut Community School lunch room and the Walnut Colonial Motor Inn. Pat was a member of and confirmed in the Faith Lutheran Church, Griswold, Iowa. She later transferred to the First Assembly of God, Atlantic, Iowa, where she was a member. She enjoyed working in the kitchen for Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gladys Dean; husband, Bill in 2000; brother, Bill Dean; niece, Cindy Dean; sisters-in-law, Wanda Dean and Mary Dean.
Pat is survived by daughters, Darcie Snyder of Council Bluffs, IA, Tammy Glenn of Atlantic, IA and Patricia (Dan) O'Neill of Minden, IA; sons, Bill Donohoe of Atlantic, IA and Terry (Sandy) Donohoe of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Caleb (Andria) Snyder of Bellevue, NE, Shauna Snyder of Plattsmouth, NE, Halee Glenn of Atlantic, IA, Holly Leazenby and Zeb Donnell of Council Bluffs, IA, Abry (Jeff) Hookie of Omaha, NE, Troy Donohoe and Jennie Smith of Des Moines, IA, Michael (Jenni) Donohoe of Des Moines, IA, Angela (Andy) Dale of Des Moines, IA and Connor (Shelby) O'Neill of Shelby, IA; great-grandchildren, Corbin Devries, Amara and Jackson Hookie, Ava O'Neill and Hunter Dale; brothers, Dan (Bernice) Dean of Pueblo, CO and Donald Dean of Webster City, IA; sister, Mary (Bernie) Lang of Omaha, NE; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., on Friday, September 18, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the First Assembly of God, Atlantic, Iowa, with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut, Iowa.
