Patricia Kinkade-Dorsey

Patricia (Pat) Jean KinKade-Dorsey, 64, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Oakland, Iowa.

Pat was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on March 1, 1950, to Mary Francis and Bobbie Dean Dotson. Her early years were spent in the Peoria, IL area, and later the family relocated to Glenwood, MO where she attended Lancaster High School. After continuing her education at Iowa Western and SAU, Pat worked as a tax preparer for many years, and more recently also as a property manager for Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services. Pat enjoyed an active social life and spent most of her time with close friends boating on the lake, golfing or bowling. She loved to travel and spend special time with her grandsons.

Pat was generous, fun-loving, caring and larger than life; she believed in having a good time no matter what.

Pat was preceded in death by her father, Bobbie Dean, and her husband, Ronald Dorsey.

Pat is survived by her mother, Mary; sister, Barbara; brother-in-law, Ronnie; two daughters, Bobbi and Tracy; son-in-law, Paul; grandsons, William and Joshua; and nephew, Michael and his family. Other surviving members of the family include the children of her late husband Ronald Dorsey: Debbie, Sherry, Janet, Mark and Mike and their thirteen grandchildren. And of course, the extensive network of friends that she considered family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa, with Reverend Lannette Plambeck officiating. Following the memorial service, a continuing celebration of Pat’s life will be held with family and friends at Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic until 6:00 p.m.
