Mrs. Patty "Rosalie" Jobe, age 93, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, IA.
Patty Rosalie (Morton) Jobe was born on June 14, 1930, in Griswold, IA, the eldest daughter of John and Mabel (Mackril) Morton. Rosalie grew up and lived in the Griswold and Lewis IA areas. She graduated from Lewis High School in 1948, and in 1949, she attended AIB in Des Moines. While in college, she continued dating her high school sweetheart, Richard Jobe, and in 1950, they married on Jan 1, in a New Year’s Day wedding at the Lewis Congregational Church.
Five children blessed this union: Pamela Lee, Lee Richard, Peggy Lee, Paula Lee, and Kevin Lee. Rosalie spent her entire life as a wonderful wife, homemaker, and loving mother. She liked to read and spent her life caring for her family and those she could help in any way. She was a great cook, and her specialty was her Apple salad, which all the grandkids loved and would request for every family meal.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Jobe; parents, John and Mabel Morton; her brother, Morris (Olivine) Morton; and sister, Jeanne Cauterucci; brother-in-law, Jack A. Jobe; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet (Larry) Hutchinson.
Surviving Rosalie are her children, Pam Blackman, Lee (Vicki) Jobe, Peggy (Rick) McClain, Paula Hensel (Rachel Parrot) and Kevin (Laurie) Jobe; seventeen grandchildren: Wade Blackman, Laura (Chris) Isaacson, Ben (Brianna) Blackman, Valerie Stothart, Jessica (Mitch) Rice, Beth Griffith, Becky Sands, Cathy Bush, Brenda (Pat) Garland, Aaron McClain, Kaylon (Christine) McClain, Robin Hensel, Adam (Whitney) Hensel, Jesstin Beauchamp, Jason (Sonja) Beauchamp, Dustin (Kim) Wyman & Nicole (Chris) Cullen; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert (Emily) Jobe; and several nieces and nephews.
Open visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Atlantic, IA.
Memorials may be directed to the Jobe Family in honor of Rosalie. They will be designated for a later date and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.
