Randy Parrott, 58, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa.
Randy Lynn Parrott was born July 19, 1951, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Tuffy and Jean (Harper) Parrott. He attended Atlantic schools and graduated with the class of 1969.
On August 25, 1973, Randy married Marie Nilson in Atlantic, Iowa. To this union were born Rachel Marie and Michael David. They lived in the Atlantic area all of their married life.
Randy was a self-employed bricklayer most of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and listening to rock ‘n roll music. Family was everything to him and spending time with his grandchildren was the most treasured part of his life.
Randy is survived by his wife, Marie; his daughter, Rachel Jenkins and her husband, Chad; his son Michael Parrott and his wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Kalob Flory, Kolby Parrott and Elias Jenkins; brothers, Rolly Parrott and Rick Parrott; his sister, Shelley Klindt; nephews, Korey Parrott and Guy Parrott; nieces, Chelsey Klindt, Carey Klindt, Calley Klindt, Cammey Klindt and Katie Parrott; uncle, Shorty Parrott; aunts, Shirley Jorgensen and her husband, Lloyd, and Maxine Bruner; and many numerous beloved cousins.
Preceding Randy in death were his mother and father, Tuffy and Jean Parrott; his uncle, Denny Parrott; and his aunts, Ruby Millhollin, Polly Casey, Zoe Beltz and Twila Worthington.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic. Visitation with family will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., also at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 811 Oak Street, Atlantic, Iowa.
