Rhonda Marie Rose Anthofer

Rhonda Marie Rose Anthofer, the daughter of Delmus Edmund and Rose Lorraine Sporrer Hacker was born January 28, 1961, in Carroll, Iowa and died November 12, 2012, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 51 years, 9 months, and 14 days. Rhonda was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended Gray Elementary School and the Audubon Middle School before graduating from the Audubon High School with the Class of 1979. On March 17, 1979, she was united in marriage to Danny Anthofer at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon. Three children: Brandi, Derek, and Kacie were born to this union. Danny and Rhonda spent their life farming near the Viola Center area. They grew row crops and raised hogs. Rhonda continued to combine until her illness forced her to retire. Years earlier she spent time combining with her father-in-law Anthony. She was thrilled at the opportunity of farming her families and Danny’s family farms. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She adored her sisters, brother, great nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews. For 24 years Danny and Rhonda enjoyed the company of her many pheasant hunters from Michigan. Everyone holds a special place in their hearts. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Mary Rose; her brother Denny Hacker; her brother-in-law Jerry Anthofer; her mother-in-law Thelma Gubbels Anthofer. Survivors include her husband Danny Anthofer of Audubon, Iowa; her children: Brandi and husband Adam Meyer of Bondurant, Iowa; Derek and fiancée Heather Shindley both of Dedham, Iowa; Kacie Anthofer of Audubon, Iowa; her grandson Lane Meyer of Bondurant, Iowa; her sisters and brother: Nancy and husband Curt Grimm of Aspinwall, Iowa; Daryl and wife Marcia Hacker of Aspinwall, Iowa; Donna and husband Joea Kemper of Templeton, Iowa; her sister-in-law Jenny Hacker and special friend Tom Young of Audubon, Iowa; her father-in-law: Anthony and wife Phyllis Anthofer of Carroll, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
The interment will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.

Visitation:
The family will meet friends Tuesday evening at 5:00 P.M. with a rosary and scripture service at 5:30 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Father Emmanuel Aguwoke on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon, Iowa.
