Richard Norman Mcglothlin

June 3, 1934 — July 16, 2010

Richard Norman McGlothlin, the son of Wayne and Blanche Beghtel McGlothlin, was born June 3. 1934, at his parents home in Guthrie Center, Iowa and died July 16, 2010, at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 13 days.
Richard attended Guthrie Center Community Schools graduating from the Guthrie Center High School With the Class of 1952. Richard then enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his tour of duty he served in Texas.
On February 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Snyder in Maryville, Missouri. One daughter Patricia was born to this union. Richard was honorably discharged and in 1958 they moved to southern California to Garden Grove. He became a certified electrician and then worked general construction in and around the California area. In 1973 they moved to Fallon, Nevada where they lived until they retired and moved to their home in rural Guthrie County. Jane died August 9, 2006. Richard moved to Georgia for a short time then returned to Iowa. He has made his home at the Exira Care Center since November of 2009.
Richard and Jane enjoyed flying, and collecting antique motorcycles and antique cars. Over the years Richard had been a member of several car and motorcycle clubs including most recently ROAD MC. He was also a member of the International Electrical Workers Association.
Preceding him in death in addition to his wife Jane; was his grandson Wesley Foster; and his father Wayne McGlothlin.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia and husband Albert Moody of Augusta, Georgia; his granddaughter Cristina and husband Robert Lamb of Savanna, Georgia; his great grandchildren Johnathon and Katelyn Lamb both of Savanna; his mother Blanche Benton of Guthrie Center, Iowa nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Union Township Cemetery in rural Guthrie County.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dean Porter of the Open Bible Church of Guthrie Center, Iowa on Monday, July 19, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
