Richard Williamson

Richard Eugene Williamson, 42, of Loveland, Colorado, and formerly of Anita, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, from a single car accident in Loveland, Colorado.


Rick was born November 12, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Everett and Judith (Howard) Williamson. His family later moved to Anita, Iowa, where he attended Anita community schools, graduating from Anita High School with the class of 1987. After high school, he moved back to Des Moines for awhile, and then settled in Corydon, Iowa. In June 2011, he left Iowa and moved to Loveland, Colorado. Rick belonged to the concrete union and owned and operated Rick's Concrete and Construction, as well as doing landscape work.


Rick was very active in football and wrestling during his high school years. His love for these sports led him to be a volunteer for the Anita Little Cougar's wrestling team. He also enjoyed NASCAR and Tony Stuart, the Dallas Cowboys, motorcycles, camping and fishing. Rick loved his friends and family, most especially his daughter, Alyssa. He took great pleasure watching her play soccer.


He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Williamson of Ames, IA; his mother, Judy Yaw of Creston, IA; his brothers, Ron and wife Mary, and their children, Cinnamon, Nikki and Sara Williamson all of Creston, IA, Rusty and wife Tami, and their children, Austin and Tanner Williamson all of Anita, IA and Roger and wife Tammy, and their children, Kristina and Cody Williamson all of Lincoln, NE; his half-sister, Renna and husband Paul, and their children, Brandon, Michael and Charity all from Owatonna, MN; his grandfather, Carl Rasmussen; his special friend, Colleen Williams of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Williamson; his grandparents, Rex and Margaret Howard; and grandfather, Richard Williamson.


A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa. There will be no scheduled visitation but the family is having a luncheon and fellowship at the Anita Community Center following the graveside service.
