Rick Suplee

Rick Suplee, 53, of Anita, Iowa, passed away September 8, 2008, at his home in Anita.

Ricky Ray Suplee was born on September 6, 1955, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Lester H. and Beatrice L. (Mortensen) Suplee.

He graduated from Anita High School in 1973. In 1983, Rick married Barbara London. They later divorced and Barb passed away.

Rick worked at various jobs including roofing, road work, construction, and for many years, at Marsden Maintenance in Des Moines, Iowa. He retired to Anita due to health problems.

Rick is survived by his mother, Beatrice Suplee of Anita, Iowa; his brother, Gene Suplee of Newton, Iowa; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lester; his brothers, Larry and Duane Suplee; his ex-wife, Barb; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the Hockenberry Funeral Home in Anita, with the Reverend Bonnie Peterson of the Anita United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.

A time for visitation, with a lunch, will be held at the Anita Community Center following the committal service.
