Robert Bailey

Robert Lewis Bailey was born February 20, 1931, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Ross Campbell and Louisa M. (Munsen) Bailey and passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Atlantic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

He attended the Atlantic School System and worked as a veterinary assistant at his father's veterinary practice. Robert was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic.

He loved spending time with friends and family and playing practical jokes on them. Robert enjoyed working at Cass Inc. and living at Park Place and later at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Louisa Bailey and his nephew, Dennis James Bailey.

Robert is survived by his brother, James H. Bailey, DVM and his wife, Roberta of Brooking, SD; his nieces, Carol Bailey of Corpus Christi, TX, Mary Lou Ulmer and her husband, David of Sioux Falls SD, Janet Meyer and her fiance, Eddie Brockhoff of Brookings, SD and Joyce Buckley and her husband, Paul of Brookings SD; and his nephew, John C. Bailey and his wife, Robin of Sioux Falls, SD.

Robert's family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Fiedler, the nurses and staff at CCMH, the staff at ANRC and Park Place, including Rev. Chuck and Carol Smith, Karen Riesberg and Sandy Wright for their excellent care of Robert.

A time for coffee and visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 3:30 pm. in the Atlantic Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Holly Smith of the Presbyterian Church.
