Roberta J. Beschorner, daughter of Leo and Lucille (Johnson) Glynn, was born February 8, 1943, in Atlantic, IA and died February 26, 2015 in Omaha, NE at the age of 72.
Roberta graduated from Anita High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, Leo Beschorner on September 21, 1963. They were blessed with two children, Lisa and Brad, who they raised in Wiota, IA.
After attending business school in Omaha, NE she returned to Atlantic, IA where she began her career at Walnut Grove. She worked there for 32 years in various positions working up to Human Resources Director. She then worked at Schafer Systems in Adair, Iowa, for 11 years as Vice President of Human Resources where she was also a member of the state and national ESOP organization (Employee Stock Ownership Program). She retired in 2006.
She was an active member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, IA.
Roberta enjoyed flower gardening, boating, and reading. She was a great cook and baker well-known for her cinnamon twists and Heath bars. Her true joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding Roberta in death were her parents, Leo and Lucille Glynn; her father and mother-in-law, Erwin and Mercedes Beschorner; her brother-in-law, Tom Beschorner; and her sister-in-law, Lin Beschorner and niece Tara Beschorner.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Leo Beschorner of Wiota, IA; her children, daughter, Lisa Perkins (significant other, Mike Hughey) of Harlan, IA; her son, Brad (Kim) Beschorner of Atlantic, IA; her grandchildren, Cody (Chelsea) Richards of Altoona, IA, Kyle Richards of Atlantic, IA, Kaytie Jo Beschorner of Omaha, NE, Kourtnie Beschorner (significant other, Jesse Baier) of Atlantic, IA, Morgan Perkins of Harlan, IA; great-grandchild, Sariya Richards; her sister, Susan Marsh of Atlantic, IA; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Malchiodi and Mary Beschorner; brother-in-law, Kevin (Peg) Beschorner. Roberta is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday March 3, 2015, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, Iowa, with burial in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Atlantic, Iowa.
Visitation with family will be from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 5:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA.
