Ruby Andersen

Ruby Nadine Andersen, 80, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She was born northeast of Griswold on July 3, 1933, the daughter of Edgar and Nellie (Morton) High. At 8 years old her family moved to Cumberland, Iowa, for two years. Her father then died so her family moved back to Griswold. In 1952 Ruby was united in marriage to Kenneth Andersen. They had a baby girl, Terrie, who died in infancy. Ruby and Kenneth then moved to Lewis and lived there for six years. Ruby later had two more children, Shirley and Kenneth (Jr.). They moved to Walnut for six years until Kenneth (Sr.) passed away June 13, 1972. Ruby and her children then moved back to Griswold. Ruby moved to Atlantic in 2004.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Shirley Nabulsi of Omaha, NE, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terrie; her son, Kenneth (Jr.); her husband, Kenneth (Sr.); and her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.


A private family interment of ashes will take place in the Whipple Cemetery.
