Ruth Runkle

Ruth M. Runkle, 86, of Casey, Iowa, passed away, Saturday, November 18, 2006, at The New Homestead Nursing Home in Guthrie Center, IA.
Ruth Mae Hicok was born on September 24, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Ray W. and Dolly Linda (Roberts) Hicok.
She went to school and attended West High School in Waterloo, Iowa.
On September 26, 1942, she was united in marriage to James T. Runkle. They moved to Casey from Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1986. After James passed away she lived with her sister, Mary Berlau in Casey.
Ruth was crafty and spent her time crocheting, beading and making dolls.
Ruth is survived by daughters, Linda Sylvester and her husband, Craig of Florence, Oregon, and Sharon Gomez; 8 grandchildren; sister, Mary Berlau of Casey, Iowa; two brothers, Bob Hicok and his wife, Lois of Lakeview, Colorado, and Jack Hicok of Meyer, Arizona; and nephews, David Berlau and his wife, Betty of Ankeny, Iowa, and Dan Berlau and his wife Liz of Dallas Center, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Warren and Frankie.
Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2006, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Casey, IA. The family will greet friends starting at 5:00 p.m., up until the time of the service.
