Scott Edward Sullivan, 43, of Marne, Iowa passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1970 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Timothy and Carol (Carpenter) Sullivan. He was raised in Waterloo, Iowa until the age of 11. His family then moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and later to Indianola, Iowa, before settling in Atlantic, Iowa. Scott attended Atlantic High School and graduated with the class of 1988.
Scott was united in marriage to Christal Feuring on May 29, 2004 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, IA. Together they made their home in Marne, IA. He was employed at Henningsen Construction and Williams Garage for a few years before starting his own business "Two Moms and a Hoe", with his wife. Scott also did over the road truck driving for Hubbard Feeds in the winter months.
He and Christal were members of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce and SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Atlantic. Scott was an assistant Boy Scout leader and soccer coach. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed pets and the outdoors, especially camping, fishing and ice fishing. Scott was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and NASCAR racing, specifically Tony Stewart. Scott loved his family more than anything in the world.
Scott is survived by his wife Christal and his children Ethan, Katie and Erin all of Marne, IA; his parents Tim and Carol Sullivan of West Des Moines, Iowa; his sisters Kimberly (Chad) Stuckey of North Ogden, Utah, and Michelle (Boomer) Benning of Urbandale, Iowa, mother-in-law Lana Coatney of Atlantic, IA; father-in-law, Ron (Pam) Feuring, brother-in-law Keven (Jodi) Feuring of Carson, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Hannah, Sharla, Keagan, Deacon, Brett, Addison and Amber; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father-in law Richard "Doc" Coatney; his grandparents, Marshall and Kate Carpenter and Joseph and Mary Sullivan and his grandparents-in-law Dean and Ethel Lyons and Elmer and Irene Feuring.
Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at the Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Interment will be in the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery following the services.
A time for fellowship and lunch will be held at the Catholic Parish Center after the interment.
